The question has now been answered, Jennifer Lopez will not be returning for the 12th season of FOX's hit singing competition "American Idol."
Revealing the news via tearful phone-in with pal Ryan Seacrest, the "On the Floor" sadly explained, "the time has come."
Despite her choice to ultimately exit the show, Jennifer explained that the decision was a tough one, "I've never felt so much part of a family of something, working on it, as I did with 'Idol.'"
J.Lo's confession follows fellow judge Steven Tyler's announcement that he will has bowed out of the show to return to his "first love," Aerosmith.
With so many members of the panel gone, several big name replacements are being tossed around. As Gossip Center previously reported, busy mom Mariah Carey is one celeb being discussed.
