After merely a week in treatment for anxiety and stress, LeAnn Rimes is already making progress.
A friend of the 30-year-old country crooner tells PEOPLE, "She's already feeling better, stronger."
Hopefully, those feelings persist through a planned break in treatment to perform at several Midwest concerts.
Afterwards, LeAnn will return to the 30-day program which she voluntarily entered to "learn and develop coping mechanisms," according to her representative.
Prior to checking in, she told PEOPLE, "I'm happy and healthy. I just want to be happier and healthier more consistently. I don't want to wake up and not truly be enjoying my life and these amazing things around me."
Hinting at her struggles, she revealed, "I've been built up and torn down, built up and torn down. It's been difficult to tune people out, especially in the last few years."
